A Thank You to Our Valued Clients

As the year draws to a close, I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all those who have worked with You Matter Psychologists over what has been our first full year of operations.

An extension of childpsych, You Matter Psychologists brings the same passion and dedication to see each client as a unique individual, and to help them reach their goals – whatever those might be.Above all, we strive to help each client to “be more than who you are”.But how do we do that?

My first piece of advice: pace yourself. Both literally and figuratively, learning to pace yourself is a skill that will serve you will into the future, and not only in the festive season. Pacing ourselves enables us to play the long game without burning out in the process. Whether that comes from mental and/or physical exhaustion from attending endless social events; the physical side effects from getting “too festive” a little too often; or from spending up more than we can potentially afford; if we continue to operate at full (or more than full) capacity in any one area for long enough, eventually our brains, bodies (and bank accounts) will force us to stop.

As clinicians we can provide an objective insight into the lives of our clients. Alongside using evidence-based interventions to address initial referral reasons, we use our insight to dig deeper to find predisposing and perpetuating factors on a biological, psychological and social level. Here at You Matter Psychologists, we place significant importance on addressing the root causes of our clients difficulties, rather than addressing only the symptom. For example, a client who presented with feelings of anxiety and complaining of feeling overwhelmed and burnt out in her career in the medical field was identified, through a thorough PsychoEducational Assessment at You Matter Psychologists as having undiagnosed Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. By looking further than just her symptoms, our team were able to help her “be more than who you are”.

First I’d like to acknowledge our wonderful clients, and thank them for inviting us to be a part of their journey. It is truly an honour to be invited into such a vulnerable space in someone’s life and is something we take very seriously. Second, our amazing team of Psychologists who go above and beyond to help our clients to be “more than who you are” every day. And third, our stellar Administration team. They work incredibly hard behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly; from answering client enquiries, managing schedules, and working closely with both our Psychologists and our clients.

From everyone at You Matter, we hope that all our clients have a relaxing and rewarding Christmas break, and we will see you in the New Year to help “be more than who you are”.

If you are interested in discussing any of the points further, we would be more than happy to hear from you. Feel free to send an email to admin@youmatterpsychologists.com.au and we will answer any questions you may have.
